Seasons of Us

A gentle month, for the two of us.

Twelve seasons, one for each month, each one written for us together.

January

January, Beginning Again

A soft restart for us, no resolutions, just presence.

Our rhythm this month

January doesn't have to be big. This month we begin again quietly, one small ritual, one honest conversation at a time.

Together practice

Sit together on the first quiet evening of the month and each say one word for how we want to enter this year, together.

Our journal prompts
  • The way I want us to begin again this year is...
  • One small thing I hope we protect this year is...

Open January

February

February, Loving Through Loss

Choosing each other again in the tender month.

Our rhythm this month

Love after loss doesn't look like it used to. This month we let our love be quieter, slower, and just as real.

Together practice

One night this month, no phones, one shared meal, and one sentence each, one thing I still love about you is...

Our journal prompts
  • The way we love each other now is different because...
  • One thing I still choose about you is...

Open February

March

March, Gentle Hope

Letting a small hope in, without forcing it.

Our rhythm this month

Hope after loss is fragile. This month we let ourselves name one small hope out loud to each other, without pressure to believe it fully.

Together practice

Trade one line this week, one small hope I'm carrying is..., and receive each other's without responding, just holding it.

Our journal prompts
  • A hope I'm afraid to say out loud is...
  • A hope I want us to hold together is...

Open March

April

April, Holding Hands

Small physical closeness, on purpose.

Our rhythm this month

Sometimes touch says what words can't. This month we return to small physical closeness, held hands, a hand on the back, a longer hug, on purpose.

Together practice

Hold hands for one full minute once a day. That is the whole practice.

Our journal prompts
  • The kind of touch I most need from you right now is...
  • A small closeness I miss is...

Open April

May

May, Mother's Day Together

Holding her heart on a day the world makes loud.

Our rhythm this month

Mother's Day can ache for both of us. This month we make a plan together, ahead of time, so she is never alone in it.

Together practice

Two weeks before the day, sit together and decide, what would feel gentle, what would feel hard, what do we say yes and no to this year.

Our journal prompts
  • What I need from you on Mother's Day is...
  • The way I want us to honor our baby that day is...

Open May

June

June, Father's Day Together

Holding his heart on a day that often forgets him.

Our rhythm this month

Father's Day after loss is often invisible. This month we name it out loud, together, and honor his fatherhood on purpose.

Together practice

The night before Father's Day, tell him one specific way he is our baby's father, out loud.

Our journal prompts
  • What I want him to know about his fatherhood is...
  • What I need from us on Father's Day is...

Open June

July

July, Small Joys

Letting laughter be allowed again.

Our rhythm this month

Joy after loss can feel like betrayal. This month we let small joys count, a laugh, a good meal, a warm evening, without guilt.

Together practice

Each night, name one small joy you noticed today. Just one. Say it out loud to each other.

Our journal prompts
  • A small joy I let myself feel this week was...
  • A joy I want to give myself permission for is...

Open July

August

August, Quiet Growth

Noticing what has grown between us since loss.

Our rhythm this month

Growth after loss is quiet. This month we look at us, and name the tenderness, the patience, the closeness that has grown, even in the ache.

Together practice

Sit together and each finish this sentence out loud, something that has grown between us since we lost our baby is...

Our journal prompts
  • A way our love has grown quieter and deeper is...
  • Something I love about who we are becoming is...

Open August

September · This month

September, Remembering Together

Making space for our baby, on purpose.

Our rhythm this month

This month we make one intentional act of remembrance, together. Not because we have to, because our baby is worth it.

Together practice

Choose one small ritual this month, light a candle, visit a place, plant something, write a letter, and do it together.

Our journal prompts
  • A way I want us to remember our baby this month is...
  • Something I want our baby to know is...

Open September

October

October, Wave of Light

Standing in the light for our baby, together.

Our rhythm this month

October 15 is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. Whether we mark it big or small, this month we let our baby be seen, together.

Together practice

On October 15 at 7 pm, light one candle together for one hour. Sit near it. Say our baby's name.

Our journal prompts
  • What I want the world to know about our baby is...
  • A way this month felt held, or hard, was...

Open October

November

November, Gratitude & Grief

Both can live in the same room.

Our rhythm this month

This month can bring pressure to feel thankful. We let gratitude and grief sit at the same table, no forcing either.

Together practice

Trade one gratitude and one grief out loud before a meal this month. Both count. Both are welcome.

Our journal prompts
  • A gratitude I'm holding is...
  • A grief I'm still carrying is...

Open November

December

December, Holding Each Other Through the Holidays

Smaller, slower, together.

Our rhythm this month

The holidays can be bright and aching at the same time. This month we do less, leave early, say no, and make new rituals that fit who we are now.

Together practice

Before the month gets loud, sit together and choose one holiday yes, one holiday no, and one remembrance gesture for our baby. Write them down.

Our journal prompts
  • This season, our yes can be...
  • This season, our no can be...
