What miscarriage is

Miscarriage is the loss of a pregnancy before 20 weeks. It is far more common than people speak about, and it is never your fault. Your body did nothing wrong by loving this baby.

Emotional healing after loss

There is no timeline for grief. You may feel waves of sadness, numbness, anger, or even unexpected calm. All of these are normal. Healing is not forgetting, it is learning to carry love and loss together.

Physical recovery after loss

Your body is recovering too. Bleeding, cramping, hormonal shifts, and exhaustion can last for weeks. Be patient with yourself. Rest is not laziness, it is part of healing.

Common feelings after miscarriage

Guilt, isolation, jealousy, anxiety about future pregnancies, these are all part of many women’s journeys. You are not broken for feeling any of them.

Questions to ask your doctor

When you’re ready, you might ask: What may have caused this? Are there tests to consider? When is it safe to try again? What signs should I watch for in a future pregnancy?

When to seek extra support

If grief feels unbearable, if you cannot eat or sleep, if you have thoughts of self-harm, please reach out. You deserve care. A therapist who specializes in pregnancy loss can be a soft, steady help.

You don’t have to walk this alone. If you need someone to talk to right now, please reach out to a trusted loved one, your provider, or a pregnancy loss support line in your country.
